Zoom levels really inconsistent

Depending on how much you fidget with your mouse scroll wheel you can zoom out an average amount or zoom out quite far. Enough that you can see more than the game will render at once. Using your scroll wheel when opening or closing the world map really messes with the camera too. Sometimes it can make your whole screen turn grey and force you to restart the game.
