Does the map rescaling reshuffle the resources like it did when alchemist labs and research facilites got added? If yes, then its very bad. It used to be 12 hours :). You can flank them so they dont trigger. If you have 100% win rate, you just take the tile, even if it explodes. They area meant to hinder the attacker a little bit. Its 30, 60 and 120 minutes for zoth level 1,2,3.

What are the rules when attacking zoths and supervirus when there is a third party involved.
Player A attacks an exploder owned by player B. Player C has land nearby. I have seen the exploder take that land and i have seen that exploder not take that land. How does it work?
