Maybe add some form of Aura Towers. The function of these towers and there would be several different types with multiple levels and strengths would be to increase statistics like HP, XP multiplier, HP regen, Structure Storage Capacity, Defenses strength etc.
There would be an area of effect.
This is just an idea and would be mean you would have to add to the tech tree.
