Expanded map

I saw that the map was expanded and that the second 3rd of the map is supposed to open next week. Is that going to happen on Thursday the 20th when the game launches on Steam? For the bottom 1/3 of the map, what defines a new player?

Yes, the middle third will open to veteran players Thursday Sept 20th. I'll write up in the guide just what makes a player or nation be considered veteran. Basically a player is considered veteran if they've been in a nation that has rebirthed. A nation is considered veteran if it's created by a veteran player, or created by a player who's been playing for at least 3 months, or if it rebirths or unites into another nation.
