When you attack an enemy square, a battle display will pop up. The battle display has two bars that gradually grow shorter: the top line represents the attacker (your nation), and the bottom line represents the defender. The attacker’s bar represents the manpower that your nation has devoted to this attack, as determined by your nation’s Manpower per Attack stat. The defender’s bar represents the defending square’s hit points. When either of these bars reach empty, the battle is finished: either the attacker has run out of manpower and failed to capture the square, or else the defender has run out of hit points and the square has been taken by the attacker.
